Aegyo meets hip hop – I’ve never seen that one before.
Song
It’s not the big, exciting debut song I was expecting, but it’s a pretty good song nonetheless. It’s great for just sitting back and bobbing your head to. The combination of voices in this group fit really well together. The “Girls girls girls” line is particularly sung well. They sound sly and arrogant, but in a good way.
I read this in one of the comments on the video and I think it’s very true: It’s a good song, but it’s not very memorable. The chorus is really simple and repetitive. The background instrumental, while catchy, literally stays exactly the same for the entire song. It is a solid song, but it never really picks up enough to grab my attention or make me think, “Wow, this is a great song.”

Cinematography
At first glance, this may seem like a monotonous, boring video, but the second time around watching it, I noticed a lot of things extremely clever about this video. The whole thing appears to have been done in one take. We have the camera in the front following the dance the whole time, but at certain parts, one side of the screen splits to follow a specific member while the main camera angle is still shown on the other half of the screen. It’s similar to EXO’s “Growl” (the 1st version), but unlike Growl, the different camera angles make the video more dynamic. It was interesting and entertaining to watch even though the whole video was shot in just one room.
The story with the girl in the beginning is also cleverly done. The girl represents us, the viewer, seeing GOT7 for the first time, becoming intrigued, and then stumbling upon their own private world and becoming completely drawn in. It would have been perfect if we could have seen a little bit more from her in the end to wrap up the story, but the subtle connection between her and the audience is really cute and clever. It sets up the video nicely.

Wardrobe
The wardrobe is pretty good I guess. I really like the style, but all of the outfits are too similar. Only a couple seemed really unique. I also didn’t like the fact that only one of the members has the GOT7 logo on his shirt. It would have been really cool if more of them, or even all of them, had their logo. I get that the darker color goes along with the setting, but at the same time they kind of just blend in with the background and other people in the club. I wish they could have stood out a little more, even if only slightly. It is good, and has the potential to be great, but the colors just don’t cut it for me.

Dance
This dance is just so much fun. I would never have guessed that so many aegyo moments and swag, hip hop moments could go together so nicely in one dance, but it did! The dance was so cute. I love the “eomona” part where they put their hand on their cheek and Jr.’s lines in the chorus where they all slowly shake their bodies side to side. Unlike other aegyo-filled dances, surrounding the cute moves were really cool dance moves. There is never a dull moment in this dance, and it really showcases GOT7’s talent in dance.

Overall, this was a great music video, but just okay as a debut video. It is crafted well, but not very eye-catching for a brand new audience. They clearly have talent though! I can’t wait to see what GOT7 has in store for us.
