I cannot express the happiness that this video gives me. Even my fangirling post I made a few days ago can’t fully capture how I feel about this video:
I love the softness of the song. It had a beat with the instrumental, but the vocals were so gentle and sweet. There was a moment in the second set of verses where the two of them were harmonizing so beautifully. I could fall asleep to this song, feel uplifted by it, or just be listening to it when I need a quiet, peaceful moment. It’s good for so many moods. I loved the style of the background instrumental. (The vocalizing over the last chorus was a little over the top though.)
It was really simple, but also really sweet. Donghae and Eunhyuk are in London, in the same hotel room. Earlier in the day, Donghae tries on the hat but decides on to wear it. Eunhyuk takes it to wear and they both go about their day. They are exploring London, somewhat mirroring each other’s experiences. As he answers his cell phone, Eunhyuk drops his hat. Later, while recording something on his phone, Donghae notices the hat and picks it up. At the end of the day, the two run into each other, Donghae returns the hat, and they walk away together. I love how they were mirroring each other. It wasn’t the same old love story, and they were able to show off their trip to London with a little story to string the experience together. It was sweet. I just wish there was more of a plot.
I love the split screen effect! It was so artistic. We saw Donghae and Eunhyuk living their lives right next to each other. The use of color to distinguish whose storyline we were watching was nice. The video captured really nice images of London. I noticed a lot of nice framing in the beginning with them walking around houses. The colors, camera angles, and choice of shots to include in the video made it all very artistic, cohesive, and just a really pleasant video to watch. The one scene that was totally random and should not have been included was in what looks like backstage to a show when Eunhyuk snaps and turns on the lights.
I loved almost every single outfit of this video. Both Donghae and Eunhyuk looked very warm and classy in the first outdoor singing scene. The coats and scarves looked great on them. We got to see a slightly different personality from each of them, but nearly all of the outfits matched really well to each other. I loved the scarves. They added flair but and also went along with the color tint of the scenes that they were in (Red for Eunhyuk and blue for Donghae). There were a couple of things I didn’t like: Eunhyuk’s flashy backstage outfit, his plaid red coat that he comes off of the elevator with, and the actual choice of the hat. The first two just didn’t look as perfect as the rest of the outfits. The hat…really didn’t have to be so obnoxious.
Overall, this was a beautiful song and a beautiful video. It was easy to listen to and simply pleasant to watch. I am so happy that SM Entertainment went out of their comfort zone and shot a video like this. They are finally starting to experiment a little with Super Junior and I am really looking forward to what they come with next year. (Eunhyuk said in an interview that they will release a new album as a full group next year! *Fangirl dance*)
